2021 Farm Credit Fly-In: Recap
An amazing week was had by the Farm Credit Midsouth Directors, employees and Members who traveled to Washington, D.C. for this year’s Farm Credit Fly-In and Farm Credit Communications Conference. After last year’s virtual event, it was good to be back in person to advocate for those ag issues important to our Members.
We kicked off the Fly-In receiving remarks and updates from Senate Agriculture Committee Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member G.T. Thompson (R-PA) and U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency Administrator Zach Ducheneaux. Our team joined associations from across the country to educate members of Congress about Farm Credit’s mission to support rural communities and agriculture, especially in challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic. We covered everything from state-specific issues to climate-smart agricultural practices.

That night, some 1,300 people attended the Fly-In Congressional Reception and Marketplace held at The Wharf, including at least 17 members of Congress and many congressional staff members enjoying over 19,200 Farm Credit customer-produced products to take home. The Farm Credit Associations of Arkansas joined together to highlight Arkansas’s BoBrook Farms River Bottom Winery in Roland.
