Farm Credit Midsouth Hosts Blood Drive
The American Red Cross and Farm Credit Midsouth teamed up to host a blood drive at the Jonesboro branch on November 9, 2020. Utilizing the Red Cross Bus, the Association was able to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions while helping a worthy cause.
On what may have been considered the prettiest day of 2020, Farm Credit Midsouth members, employees and a few from the community donated 19 units of blood. Those who donated received free COVID-19 antibody tests. Out of those who donated, five were first-time donors.
Melissa Powell, Farm Credit Midsouth marketing and communications director, reported, “We were thrilled with the turnout for our blood drive. The 19 units given could potentially save 57 lives. Today lived up to our event theme of ‘Farming is in our blood. Giving is in our nature’. We look forward to hosting more blood drives throughout the Midsouth in 2021 and making this an annual occurrence.”
Plans are in the works for blood drives in Osceola and more in Jonesboro. Follow Farm Credit Midsouth on social media for postings about Farm Credit Midsouth blood drives near you.
