Farm Credit Midsouth was proud to host our annual Pizza Ranch on Sept. 30 at Allen Park. Approximately 200 second-grade students from Valley View Elementary School attended this unique educational event that provides a firsthand look at where their pizza comes from—before it arrives in a cardboard box.

11 educational stations illustrated the many food products used to make pizzas, not to mention the fact that these products come from farms and ranches in Arkansas.

Pizza stations included:

  • Meat & Poultry
  • Wheat & Dough
  • Veggies & Fruits
  • Dairy
  • My Plate
  • Electricity

Other stations included:

  • Hand Washing
  • Tractor
  • Farm Scene
  • Petting Zoo
  • Seed Station

Special thanks to:

  • Armor Seed
  • ASU Farmers’ Market & Petting Zoo
  • Craighead County 4-H Teen Leaders
  • Craighead Electric
  • Craighead County Extension Service
  • Farm Bureau
  • Greenway Equipment

In addition, Farm Credit Midsouth would like to thank Turner Dairy, Andy’s Frozen Custard and Jonesboro Parks & Recreation. We greatly appreciate the investment made by these companies and individuals in educating area children on the importance of agriculture.

As the accompanying artwork shows, it paid off. After learning about where their pizza—and other food—comes from, the students showed their appreciation for local farmers by writing and illustrating thank-you notes. We want to commend these young people for expressing their gratitude to our producers!

Thank You!
